1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Raise the vehicle and install vertical supports.
3. If necessary, remove the gravel reflectors.
4. Drain the transfer case fluid (see chapter 1).
5. Remove the front and rear driveshaft (see chapter 8).
6. Disconnect all electrical connectors from the transfer case, as well as the ventilation hose.
7. Disconnect the wiring harnesses and fuel lines from the fasteners located on the transfer case.
8. Remove all supporting elements connecting the transfer case to the gearbox. Raise the transmission sufficiently to remove the transmission mounts (see chapter 7A), then support the box with a jack or vertical support.
9. Support the transfer case with a jack (It is preferable to use a special jack). It is recommended to secure the box to the jack with a safety chain.
10. Unscrew the nuts securing the adapter to the transfer case. Avoid losing the puck.
11. Finally, make sure that all wires and hoses are disconnected from the transfer case. Push back the jack with the transfer case so that it is disconnected from the gearbox. In this case, do not tilt the transfer case. After disconnecting the input shaft, lower the transfer case and remove it from under the vehicle.
12. Inspect the transfer case gasket. Replace it if necessary. When installing, do not cover the gasket with a sealing compound.
13. Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal. Tighten the nuts securing the transfer case to the gearbox to the required torque.
