Crankcase ventilation system

1. When the engine is running, a certain amount of gases formed during the combustion process break through the piston rings into the crankcase. Such gases are called crankcase gases. Crankcase ventilation system (PCV) designed to reduce the level of toxic hydrocarbon impurities in the exhaust by transferring escaping gases and fuel vapors from the crankcase into the intake manifold, where they are mixed with the air charge before entering the combustion chambers

2. All models use a constant flow PCV system. The main element of the system is the PCV tube (see illustration). Fresh air is supplied to the engine through a vent tube from the intake air duct. Blow-by gases are removed from the crankcase through the PCV pipe. The system does not require regular maintenance - you just need to inspect the tube connections and make sure that it does not crack or otherwise become depressurized.
