Electrovalve of the camshaft phase adjustment device — replacement

1. The solenoid valve of the device receives a signal with a 12-volt potential and variable pulse width from the PCM. The duration of the operating cycle determines the amount of engine oil that enters the camshaft timing adjustment device. The device is connected to the exhaust camshaft. This design makes it possible to increase or decrease the camshaft phase through a hydraulic drive in the range from 0 to 25°. Continuous automatic adjustment of the exhaust camshaft timing increases engine torque and eliminates the need for an EGR valve.

Replacement

2. Remove the drive belt (see chapter 1).

3. Remove the power steering pump (see chapter 10).

4. Disconnect the connector from the solenoid valve of the phase correction device (see illustration).



5. Remove the bolt, then rotate and pull out the solenoid valve.

6. Clean the channel in which the valve is located.

7. Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal.
