Camshaft position sensor (construction and installation work) — replacement

1. Camshaft position sensor (construction and installation work) the principle of operation is similar to the crankshaft position sensor (TFR), but the CMP sensor generates six pulses per revolution of the exhaust camshaft. By comparing the pulses of the SKR and SMR sensors in the PCM, the phases of fuel injection in each cylinder are determined.

Replacement

2. Disconnect the electrical connector of the SMR sensor (see illustration).



3. Unscrew the mounting bolt and remove the sensor from the cylinder head (see illustration).



4. Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal.
