Throttle position sensor (TPS) — replacement

1. The TPS sensor is a variable potentiometer connected to the throttle shaft inside the throttle block. The PCM receives signals from the TPS sensor, and the required amount of fuel is determined depending on the angle of the throttle valve.

Note: The TPS sensor is connected to the throttle actuator control system as well as the accelerator pedal position sensor (APP). Thus, two sensors are located in a single housing. If there is a discrepancy between the actual throttle position and the TPS sensor signal, fault codes are recorded in the electronic memory of the microprocessor.

Replacement

2. The TPS position sensor is integrated into the throttle body, which is completely replaceable. The procedure for replacing the throttle unit is described in chapter 4.
