Warning: Your vehicle's restraint systems may be damaged in an accident. A damaged restraint system may not adequately protect the occupant using it. After an accident, the restraint systems must be checked by a workshop. Replace damaged restraint system components as soon as possible.
Seat belt pretensioners
1. Your vehicle is equipped with seat belt pretensioners. Pretensioners help tighten seat belts during the early stages of a moderate or severe frontal or near-frontal collision if the pretensioner threshold conditions are met. They also provide belt tension in the event of a side collision or rollover.
2. Pretensioners are built into the driver and front passenger seat belts. Pretensioners are single-use devices. After an accident they must be replaced.
Airbags
3. Your vehicle is equipped with two airbags, located in the steering wheel hub and on the right side of the control panel, which are activated in the event of a frontal impact (see illustration). The front airbags have two levels of inflation depending on the severity of the collision. In moderate frontal impacts, the airbags are partially inflated. In the event of severe frontal impacts, the airbag is fully inflated.
3.3 Your vehicle is equipped with two airbags, located in the steering wheel hub and on the right side of the control panel
4. Vehicles equipped with dual-stage airbags also have electronic sensors that help distinguish a moderate frontal collision from a more severe one.
5. Vehicles equipped with dual-stage airbags also have seat position sensors that help determine whether the airbag should be partially or fully inflated.
6. Your vehicle is also equipped with two roof-mounted side curtain airbags, which may deploy in the event of a side impact or rollover (see illustration). These airbags are designed to provide additional protection for the driver, front passenger and rear outboard seat occupants.
3.6 Your vehicle is also equipped with two roof-mounted side curtain airbags
7. If battery power is maintained after an accident, the door locks may automatically unlock and the interior lights will turn on when the airbags deploy. When the airbags deploy, the hazard warning lights will also come on. To turn it off, press the alarm button.
Warning:
- The combined action of seat belts and airbags provides the best protection for the driver and adult passengers in the event of an accident.
- A person who comes close to or is in the vicinity of an airbag can be seriously or even fatally injured when it inflates.
