16 Battery does not hold charge
1. Low electrolyte level or battery discharge (Chapter 1).
2. The presence of corrosive deposits on the battery terminals or their weakening (Chapter 1).
3. The generator does not produce the required charging voltage (chapter 5).
4. Loose electrical connectors, rupture or damage to the battery charging circuit wires (chapter 5).
5. Short circuit causing constant battery drain (see _ chapter 12 and electrical circuits).
6. Failure of internal battery elements.
17 After starting the engine, the battery charging indicator does not turn off
1. Malfunction of the generator circuit or charging circuit elements (chapter 5).
2. Incorrect installation adjustment or damage to the generator drive belt (Chapter 1).
18 When the ignition is turned on, the battery charging indicator does not turn on
1. The indicator light element has burned out (chapter 12).
2. Generator failure (chapter 5).
3. Failure of the printed circuit or instrument panel wiring, or light element connector (chapter 12).
