Warning: The vehicles described in this manual are equipped with a passive restraint system (SRS), also known as an air spring system. Before carrying out work in the area where the elements of this system are located, you should turn off its power, since accidental deployment of the airbags can result in serious injury (see subsection 28).
1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Remove the steering column housing covers and the parking lock switch (see _ chapter 11 and subsection 8).
3. To remove the lock cylinder, insert the key and turn it clockwise to the Start position. Press in the locking pin and pull the cylinder and key out of the ignition switch (see illustration).

4. If necessary, pull the anti-theft system block off the lock cylinder bushing.
5. Disconnect one multi-pin and two single-pin connectors, then remove the switch (see illustrations).
9.5a. Remove the ignition switch electrical element (marked with lower arrow) prying it with two screwdrivers inserted into specially provided holes (marked with upper arrows)
9.5b. Disconnect the turn signal switch and multifunction switch connectors from the connector located on the body bulkhead
9.5s. Rotate the anti-theft connector 90°, then disconnect the installation guide and electrical connector
6. When installing the cylinder, it is necessary to align the clamp with the groove in the casing. After this, push the cylinder so that its stopper locks.
7. The remainder of the assembly procedure is performed in the reverse order of removal.
