Circuit breakers protect power circuits for devices such as power windows or power seats. Depending on your vehicle's configuration, your vehicle may have two 25-amp circuit breakers protecting the door lock circuits and one 30-amp power seat circuit breaker located in the interior fuse/relay box located under the left rear seat.
These devices turn on automatically after an instantaneous opening of the circuit in which the overload has occurred. If the electrical circuit does not close after tripping the switch, test it immediately.
To perform the test, pull the switch out of the contact clamps so that it remains connected to the circuit, and at the same time it is possible to connect the tester electrodes to its contacts.
Connect the voltmeter electrode to the grounding point and connect the positive electrode to each terminal of the circuit breaker in turn. Each time you connect, the voltmeter should display the battery voltage. If the voltage is detected only when the voltmeter electrode is connected to one of the contact terminals, the circuit breaker must be replaced.
