Shock absorber (rear) — removal and installation

1. Raise the rear of the vehicle and install vertical supports under the frame side members. To prevent the vehicle from rolling, place chocks under the front wheels.

Note: This procedure does not require removing the rear wheels. It is recommended to remove the wheels only to increase access to the shock absorbers.

2. Support the rear axle with a floor jack located under the axle shaft housing on the side of the car from which the shock absorber is being removed.

3. Unscrew the upper and lower shock absorber fasteners (see illustration).





4. Remove the shock absorber.

5. Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal. Tighten all fasteners to torque values.
