1. The brake pedal is not adjusted, but the stroke should be checked when lowering it. To do this you will need a ruler or tape measure.
2. Press the pedal several times to exhaust the vacuum booster potential.
3. Determine the pedal height in the free position. You can measure both the distance from the pedal to the floor and from the pedal to the steering column. Record your results.
4. Press the brake pedal (apply a force of approximately 45 kgf) and determine the pedal stroke. Compare the results obtained with the values given in the specifications.
5. If the pedal travel exceeds the norm, examine the system for the presence of air in it (see subsection 8). Also, an increase in pedal travel can result from a failure of the master cylinder seal.
