This part of the chapter covers the repair operations performed on the vehicle for the 3.1L V6 engine, which is a cast iron six-cylinder block with a 60°V-arrangement. The cylinder head has replaceable guide bushings and valve seats. Hydraulic tappets actuate the valves via tubular rods.
All information about the procedure for removing and installing the engine, as well as repairing the cylinder head, is contained in parts 2.3 this chapter. The procedures below apply to the case when the engine is not removed from the vehicle. If the engine was removed from the car and installed on the stand, then a significant part of the points from this part of the chapter can be omitted.
The specifications given in this part of Chapter 2 apply only to the procedures covered in it. IN parts 2.3 This chapter contains the technical conditions necessary for the repair of the cylinder head and cylinder block.
