The starting system includes a starter, including a relay and a battery.
The relay and starter are mounted in front of the engine from below. They do not require any maintenance work.
The electrical circuit for turning on the starter is such that it can only work when the clutch pedal is depressed (in vehicles with manual transmission) or after moving the shift lever to neutral or park (the latter applies to vehicles with automatic transmission).
It is not allowed to turn on the starter for more than 30 seconds; after this, be sure to wait at least two minutes to allow the starter to cool down. If the crankshaft is cranked too long, the starter may overheat and fail.
