Attention: when installing an old switch, you will need a special guide tool.
Withdrawal
1. Apply the parking brake.
2. Move the automatic transmission selector to the neutral position.
3. Remove the front propeller shaft.
4. Raise the car and place the safety stands under the frame.
5. Disconnect the connector (2) start inhibit switch.
6. Turn away a nut of fastening of the lever of a shaft of manual control.
7. Remove the lever from the shaft.
8. Turn away bolts of fastening of the switch.
9. Remove the switch. If the switch does not come off the shaft, file the outer end of the shaft to remove burrs.
Installation
1. Install the switch on the shaft, matching the flats on the switch and the shaft.
2. Slide the switch onto the shaft until the bracket of the switch touches the bosses on the automatic transmission housing.
Attention: the new circuit breaker is supplied with a guide bracket, so no special guide tool is required.
3. Tighten the switch mounting bolts by hand.
4. Install the guide tool on the switch, aligning the tabs of the guide tool with the slots in the shaft.
5. Rotate the tool until the top lip of the tool aligns with the notch on the switch. Tighten the mounting bolts. Tightening torque 25 Nm.
6. Remove guide tool or bracket (from the new switch).
7. Install the manual shaft lever. Tighten the fastening nut. Tightening torque 25 Nm.
8. Connect the switch connector.
9. Install the front propeller shaft.
10. Lower the car.
11. Check the operation of the switch: the engine should only start when the selector is in the positions "R" or "N". Adjust the switch position if necessary.
Adjustment
1. Set the automatic transmission selector to position "N".
2. Sit the assistant in the driver's seat, raise the car and place it under the safety strut frame.
3. Loosen the switch mounting bolts.
4. Turn the switch while the assistant tries to start the engine.
5. After a successful start, turn off the engine.
6. Tighten the switch mounting bolts. Tightening torque 25 Nm.
7. Lower the car.
8. Check the operation of the switch.
9. If the engine continues to start in selector positions other than "R" And "N", replace the switch.
