Caution: Read the precautions for removing and installing the coupling in this chapter.
1. Secure the coupling with a plastic tie (1), if you haven't already done so.
2. Wash the sleeve with cleaning solvent.
3. Dry the coupling with compressed air.
4. Check the performance of the return spring (1).
5. Check the coupling:
A) Correct positioning: The actuator return spring should move the camshaft position sensor timing ring to the PARK position. This position corresponds to the alignment of the label (1) on the sprocket with the end of the cutout in the ring (2). If there is no alignment, the internal parts of the drive are stuck or the return spring is broken. The clutch must be replaced as an assembly.
b) Burrs or damaged edges (3) synchronizing ring.
V) Tooth damage (4) timing drive.
6. Check the cleanliness of the channels (1, 2, 3) oil supply.
