Attention: it is not recommended to reinstall the valve, always install a new valve after removal. The test procedure described below is for diagnostic purposes only.
1. By vehicle: Remove the variable valve timing solenoid valve.
2. Insert the spool into the valve body. The spool should move freely without binding and with minimal resistance. Release the goldsmith.
The return spring should return the spool to its original position (1).
Measure the protrusion of the spool. It should be equal to 6.08-6.12 mm.
3. When repairing the engine outside the vehicle, inspect the removed valve. Evaluate the cleanliness of the oil supply holes (1) and check valve outlet (3). If dirt deposits are present, determine the source of the dirt.
