2. Dry parts with compressed air.
3. Check the timing chain (1) for bending or wear.
4. Check the condition of the timing ring (2), look for burrs or other damage.
5. Check the condition of the sprocket teeth (3), look for signs of wear, chipping or other damage.
6. Check the condition of the keyway (4).
7. Check the condition of the oil pump drive splines (5).
8. Check the timing chain tensioner, pay attention to:
- spring damage (1)
- excessive wear or chips on the guide surfaces (2, 3)
