Withdrawal
1. Remove the automatic transmission drive clutch.
2. Remove the bolts (1) attaching the oil pan to the rear cover of the engine.
3. Remove the bolts (517) back cover fasteners.
4. Remove the back cover (518) and gasket (519).
5. Remove and discard rear oil seal (141) crankshaft.
Installation
Attention:
- Do not reinstall the crankshaft oil seal and rear cover gasket.
- Do not apply any type of sealant to the rear cover gasket.
- A special mandrel is used to center the back cover. If the cover is not properly centered, oil can leak through the stuffing box.
- The crankshaft rear oil seal is installed after the rear cover is installed.
1. Apply a bead of sealant about 5 mm in diameter and 20 mm long to the joints between the engine block and oil pan split planes.
2. Install a NEW rear cover gasket and rear cover to the engine.
3. Tighten the rear cover bolts by hand.
4. Establish bolts of fastening of the oil pallet to a back cover, tighten bolts by hand.
5. Turn the crankshaft so that the two opposite threaded holes in the crankshaft flange are parallel to the plane of the oil pan connector.
6. Install the centering mandrel on the crankshaft flange. The conical protrusions of the mandrel must fit into the seat of the stuffing box.
7. Tighten the mandrel fastening bolts by hand.
8. Tighten bolts of fastening of the oil pallet to a back cover. Tightening torque 12 Nm.
9. Tighten the bolts securing the rear cover to the unit. Tightening torque 30 Nm.
10. Remove the mandrel.
11. Install a NEW crankshaft rear oil seal.
12. Install the automatic transmission drive clutch.
