The indicator number in the table corresponds to the item number.
1. Parking brake status indicator and low brake fluid level indicator.
The indicator lights up when the ignition key is turned to the "ON" and should go out after a few seconds.
- A) The indicator lights up if:
- the parking brake is on;
- low level of brake fluid or the tightness of the vacuum brake booster is broken;
- the indicator circuit is faulty.
Note: When the pressure in the brake booster system decreases, the indicator lights up and a warning signal sounds continuously.
- b) If the indicator lights up while driving, slow down, pull off the road and carefully stop the car. You can slow down by applying engine braking and applying the parking brake, but be sure to depress the brake pedal to turn on the brake lights to warn drivers behind you of braking. Check the parking brake, it may be on. If the parking brake is released and the indicator is on after the parking brake is released, there is a problem with the brake system. Check the brake fluid level in the reservoir.
- If the brake fluid level is low, add fluid and test the vehicle's braking performance in a safe place. If you think the brakes are still working well enough, carefully drive the vehicle to the nearest repair shop. If the brakes do not work, the vehicle must be towed or towed for repair.
- If the brake fluid level is normal, then the brake booster may not be working effectively or the indicator circuit may be faulty.
Attention: driving a car with a low level of brake fluid is dangerous.
2. Anti-lock brake indicator (ABS).
- A) After turning the ignition key to position "ON" the indicator lights up for a few seconds and then goes out.
Note: in case of starting the engine with an auxiliary battery, see the specifics of starting the engine on models with ABS in the appropriate section.
- b) If the light comes on while the engine is running, comes on while driving, or does not come on for a few seconds after the ignition key is turned to the "ON", then this means that there may be a malfunction in the ABS system (the ABS system is not active and only the normal brake system works (see chapter "Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS)")).
Caution: Pressing the brake pedal repeatedly may turn on the indicator for a few seconds.
Note: If the indicator lights up while driving, slow down by gently depressing the brake pedal, stop the car in a safe place and turn off the ignition. To test the ABS system, start the engine again and continue driving at a speed of at least 20 km/h. If at the same time the indicator goes out, then there is no malfunction.
3. Indicator "check the engine" ("CHECK ENGINE").
The indicator lights up when the ignition key is turned to the "ON" for a few seconds and then goes out, informing the driver that the engine management system is being checked.
If the indicator stays on or lights up while driving, this indicates a malfunction in the electronic engine control system. In this case, it is necessary to move to the place of repair and diagnose the engine control system.
4. Battery charging indicator.
- A) The indicator lights up when the ignition key is turned to the "ON" and should go out after the engine is started.
- b) If the indicator lights up while driving, the charging system is faulty or the (or broken off) generator drive belt. However, the engine will continue to run until the battery is completely discharged. Turn off optional equipment (air conditioning, radio, etc.) and move to the place of repair.
5. Turn signal indicators. The indicators flash when the direction indicators are turned on. Excessive flashing of the indicator lamps indicates a poor connection in the turn signal circuit or a failure of the turn signal lamp.
6. High beam indicator. Illuminates when the high beam headlights are on.
7. Driver seat belt indicator.
The indicator lights up when the ignition is turned on for a few seconds, and then goes out. If the driver is not wearing a seat belt, the indicator flashes on the instrument cluster. On some models, an additional signal sounds.
8. Traction off indicator (TAS) or stability control systems (StabiliTrack).
The indicator lights up when the ignition is turned on for a few seconds, and then goes out.
Models with TAS
While driving, the indicator lights up only when the traction control system is turned off or if it malfunctions. See section "Traction control (TAS)".
Models with StabiliTrak
The indicator lights up when the StabiliTrack system is turned off by pressing the StabiliTrack system switch or when the system is malfunctioning. See the section for more details "StabiliT rack system".
9. Automatic transmission selector position indicators ("P", "R", "N", "D", "3", "2" or "1").
When the automatic transmission selector is moved to any position, the corresponding indicator lights up on the instrument cluster "P", "R", "N", "D", "3", "2" or "1". For more details, see "Driving a car with automatic transmission".
10. Airbag and pretensioner indicator (SRS).
The indicator lights up when the ignition switch is in the "ON" or "ACC". After a few seconds, the indicator will turn off. If the indicator does not light up or is on (flashing) while driving, there is a malfunction in the SRS system components.
11. Indicator of the operation of the cruise control system.
The indicator lights up when the cruise control system is activated. See the section for more details "Speed control system".
12. The trailer/trailer towing mode indicator lights up when the corresponding mode is turned on. For more details, see "Driving a car with automatic transmission".
13. Immobilizer / anti-theft indicator.
The immobilizer indicator lights up when the key is turned to the "ON" and should turn off after about five seconds, informing the driver that the system is OK and the engine is allowed to start.
If the indicator continues to flash for more than five seconds, then the engine may be started with the wrong key or the immobilizer is faulty. In this case, wait about 10 minutes (the immobilizer indicator should go out) and try to start the engine again. If the engine does not start, contact your dealer for troubleshooting.
14. Low tire pressure indicator.
- A) The indicator comes on for a few seconds when the ignition key is in the "ON" and then turns off.
- b) If the light comes on while the engine is running or comes on while driving, the pressure in one or more tires is too low. Stop and check tire pressure.
- V) If the indicator does not come on for three seconds after turning the ignition key to the "ON", this means that there may be a malfunction in the tire pressure monitoring system.
Note: The multifunction display will also show "CHECK TIRE PRESSURE".
15. Indicators of the airbag activation system and the front passenger's seat belt pretensioner.
Indicator "PASSENGER AIRBAG OFF" lights up when the ignition key is in the "ON" or when starting the engine. If the activation system does not recognize the presence of a passenger in the seat (there is no passenger or his weight is too small), then the indicator will continue to burn, if not, then the indicator will light up "PASSENGER AIRBAG ON". See section "Airbag activation system and front passenger seat belt pretensioner".
