Ignition (Cadillac Escalade) | Ignition (Chevrolet Tahoe, Avalanche) |
Key fob transmitter of the central locking remote control system
The ignition key allows you to start the engine and unlock the doors, including the rear door.
2. An immobilizer is installed on all models, which helps prevent theft of the car. This system does not allow the engine to be started using another key or by shorting the ignition switch wires. The engine will start only if the ignition key identification code matches the one registered.
The immobilizer indicator lights up when the key is turned to the "ON" and should turn off after about five seconds, informing the driver that the system is OK and the engine is allowed to start.
Attention: When the ignition key is set to the "ON" do not place magnets or metal objects near it.
Attention: Do not damage the key with a knife, a keychain or in any other way, as if the built-in chip is damaged with this key, it will not be possible to start the engine.
If the indicator continues to flash for more than five seconds, then the engine may be started with the wrong key or the immobilizer is faulty. In this case, wait about ten minutes (the immobilizer indicator should go out) and try to start the engine again. If the engine does not start, contact your dealer for troubleshooting.
3. To open / close the lock of the driver's door and the front passenger door from the outside, insert the key into the door lock and turn it forward / backward.
The front doors can be locked from the outside without a key. To do this, from the inside, move the door lock lever to the position "LOCK" (red label), pull the door release handle and hold the handle while closing the door.
From the inside, the doors are unlocked in the following way: move the door lock lever to the position "UNLOCK", pull the door release handle and unlock the door.
4. Locking and unlocking the doors with the central locking master switch.
Inside the vehicle, the driver's door panel has a central locking master switch located as shown in the figure. Pressing the right side of the switch automatically locks the side doors and tailgate so that the doors cannot be opened from inside or outside the vehicle. Pressing the left side of the switch automatically unlocks the locks of the side doors and the rear door, so that the doors can be opened both from the outside and from the inside.
5. Door lock delay function.
If, when locking the door locks with the central locking remote control system or with the central locking master switch, one of the doors will open (including rear), the door lock delay function will operate. At the same time, a beep will sound three times. The doors will be locked automatically within five seconds after the door is closed.
6. Automatic door lock/unlock function.
Using the multifunction display, you can turn on (or turn off) the function of automatic locking / unlocking of doors under various conditions (depending on the speed of movement, the position of the automatic transmission selector, etc). See section "Multifunction display (DIC system) ".
7. Some modifications are equipped with a central locking remote control system. Unlocking and locking the side doors and the rear door is carried out by pressing the corresponding button on the transmitter key fob.
Note: in addition to locking/unlocking the doors, you can set additional functions for the buttons using the multifunction display "LOCK" And "UNLOCK" key fob-transmitter of the remote control system of the central lock (see section "Multifunction display (DIC system) " this chapter).
The distance to the car should be no more than 30 m.
Attention:
- If the central lock does not work, then the transmitter battery is dead.
- Do not expose the key fob transmitter to any impact, liquids of any kind or direct sunlight.
- A) By pressing the button "LOCK" the side doors and tailgate are automatically locked so they cannot be opened from inside or outside the vehicle.
Note: the central locking does not work if the ignition key is in the ignition lock or any of the doors are not tightly closed. In this case, check all doors and close the open (s).
- b) By pressing the button once "UNLOCK" the driver's door is automatically unlocked so that the door can be opened both from the outside and from the inside. When pressed again (within 3 seconds) on the button "UNLOCK" all other doors are automatically unlocked so that they can be opened both from the outside and from the inside.
Note:
- When the door locks are unlocked in the passenger compartment, the local illumination lamps and the interior lighting lamp light up for 15 seconds.
- If 30 seconds have elapsed after unlocking the doors with the key fob transmitter and none of the doors has been opened, they will lock automatically.
- V) System "PANIC" designed to draw attention to your vehicle to prevent theft or damage to your vehicle. The main switch of the system is located on the key fob transmitter. By pressing the button "PANIC" for half a minute, the sound and light alarms in your car turn on. To turn off the system, press the button "PANIC" restart or start the engine.
8. The car has an additional blocking of the rear side doors. This function allows you to lock the door so that it can only be opened from the outside. It is recommended to use this function whenever there are small children in the car. To lock the door, move the lever to the up position and close the door.
Replacing the battery of the key fob-transmitter of the remote control system of the central lock
1. Using a flathead screwdriver, pry the transmitter case apart.
2. Remove the old battery from the case, noting the polarity. Install a new battery, observing the polarity (side "+" should be on top).
