Note:
- When operating the car in severe conditions, change the oil 2 times more often (every 5,000 km).
- When changing the engine oil, it is recommended to change the oil filter at the same time.
- The oil filter contains 0.3 liters of engine oil.
1. Park the vehicle on a level surface and apply the parking brake.
2. Start the engine and warm it up at idle so that the coolant temperature reaches 80-90°C, then turn off the engine.
3. Drain the old engine oil.
A) Open the hood.
b) Remove the oil filler cap.
V) Remove the drain plug on the oil pan and drain the oil into a suitable container.
Possible location of the drain plug (models until 2007) | Possible location of the drain plug (models since 2007) |
Caution: be careful and careful as the oil is hot.
G) After completely draining the engine oil, reinstall the oil pan drain plug. Before installation, clean the drain plug and, if necessary, install a new gasket. Tighten the plug to the specified torque. Tightening torque - 25 Nm.
4. Turn away the oil filter from the block of cylinders.
5. Check and clean the surface of the cylinder block adjacent to the oil filter.
6. Lubricate the O-ring of the new oil filter with a small amount of clean engine oil.
7. Installing an oil filter.
A) Install the new oil filter and tighten it by hand until the filter O-ring is snug against the filter bracket on the oil pump housing.
b) Final tighten (entrust) oil filter within 3/4 turn to one turn with a special wrench (depending on key type). Tightening torque - 30 Nm.
8. Fill the specified volume of new engine oil through the engine oil filler neck, checking the level with the engine oil dipstick. Engine oil viscosity (according to BAE classification) select according to the diagram of the temperature range corresponding to the operating conditions of the car.
- Oil quality according to API - GF-4
- Refueling volume (all engines, with filter change) - 5.7 l
Attention: be careful when using low-viscosity motor oils (such as, for example, 0W-30) in cars with high mileage or in the warm season. When using such oils, you should be sure that the engine and its seals are in good condition.
9. Replace the oil filler cap.
10. Start the engine and depress the accelerator pedal for several minutes. Check for oil leaks.
11. Stop the engine. Wait a while and check the oil level again to make sure the level is within the acceptable range. Top up if necessary.
Resetting the engine oil change service indicator
After changing the engine oil on vehicles equipped with an engine oil change warning indicator "CHANGE OIL SOON", you need to reset the counter to zero. To do this, follow these steps:
1. Set the key in the ignition switch to position "RUN".
2. Fully depress and release the accelerator pedal 3 times within 5 seconds.
3. If the indicator "CHANGE OIL SOON" flashes for 10 seconds, the procedure is successful. If not, then repeat the reset procedure again.
4. Set the key in the ignition switch to position "LOCK".
