- Before carrying out this test, park the vehicle on a level, level surface.
- Carry out the check with the engine off. If the engine is running, then stop the engine and wait a while before starting the test.
- The check is made on a warm engine.
1. Remove the engine oil dipstick and wipe the oil off the dipstick with a clean cloth.
Note: The engine oil dipstick knob is usually yellow.
2. Insert the engine oil level dipstick into the dipstick guide tube.
3. Slowly remove the dipstick and check that the engine oil level is within the allowable range indicated on the dipstick.
If the engine oil level is near or below the minimum level, check for leaks and add the recommended oil through the oil filler neck.
Caution: Do not fill the engine with engine oil above the maximum level as this may cause severe engine damage.
- Oil quality according to API - GF-4
- Filling capacity - 6.0 l
Attention: Viscosity of engine oil (according to SAE classification) select according to the temperature range chart corresponding to the operating conditions of the vehicle until the next oil change.
Attention: Care should be taken when using low-viscosity motor oils (such as, for example, 0W-30) in cars with high mileage or in the warm season. When using such oils, you should be sure that the engine and its seals are in good condition.
The recommended SAE engine oil viscosity can also be found on the oil filler cap.
Note: It is not recommended to add any additives to the engine oil as this may cause damage to the engine systems.
Note: Engine oil consumption increases under severe operating conditions (driving at high speeds, frequent acceleration and braking, prolonged operation of the engine at high speeds, poor quality or inappropriate oil viscosity).
4. Make sure the engine oil has the right viscosity for the season (no discoloration or thinning). Check the degree of contamination of the oil, and also make sure that there are no coolant and fuel impurities in the oil.
5. After topping up the oil, start the engine, let it idle and then shut it off. Wait a while and check the oil level again to make sure the level is within the acceptable range.
