Level check
1. Raise the car.
2. Install the car body horizontally.
3. Inspect the rear axle. Check for oil leaks. Repair leaks if necessary.
4. Clean surfaces around drain and fill plugs.
5. Remove the fill plug.
Note: The filler plug can be installed on the gearbox cover.
6. Make a letter-shaped probe from the wire "G" to measure the oil level. The length of the probe legs must be greater than 40 mm.
7. Insert the dipstick into the fill plug hole. One leg of the probe should be pressed against the edge of the hole, the other should stand vertically.
8. Remove the dipstick and measure the distance from the bend of the dipstick to the oil level. Normally, the oil level should be (from the cut of the level plug hole) the values below.
Oil level:
- Models up to 2007:
- reducer 8.6" — 15-40 mm
- gearboxes 9.5" and 10.5" — 0-10 mm
- Models since 2007:
- reducer 8.6" — 1-19 mm
- reducer 9.5" LD - 15-40 mm
- reducer 9.5" HD - 0-10 mm
9. Add oil if necessary.
10. Install and tighten the fill plug.
Torque:
- reducer 9.75" - 21 N.m
- except gearbox 9.75" - 33 N.m
Change of oil
1. Install the car horizontally.
2. Remove the fill plug.
Note: The filler plug can be installed on the gearbox cover.
3. Remove the drain plug (if installed). Drain the oil.
4. If there is no drain plug, unscrew the bolts securing the gearbox cover (1). Check the bolts, if necessary, replace them with new ones.
5. Carefully peel off the cover (2) from the gearbox housing and drain the oil.
6. Remove the rest of the gasket from the mating surfaces of the cover and gearbox housing.
7. Before assembly, carefully inspect all parts of the gearbox. Check for signs of wear or stress. Timely replacement of defective parts reduces the likelihood of costly repairs after poor assembly.
- A) Inspect the surfaces of the drive gear shaft of the reducer for the installation of the oil seal, eliminate burrs or burrs.
- b) Inspect the seats in the differential bearing caps. Fix the found defects (e.g. bullies).
- V) Inspect the walls of the gearbox housing. Look for signs of cracking, replace crankcase if necessary.
- G) Inspect the bottom of the gearbox housing. If there are visible deposits of metal particles, this indicates extreme gear wear.
8. Clean the walls of the gearbox housing.
9. Install a new gasket and gearbox cover.
10. Install the cover mounting bolts, tighten the bolts. Tightening torque 40 Nm.
11. Install and tighten the drain plug.
Torque:
- reducer 9.75" - 27 Nm
- except gearbox 9.75" - 33 Nm
12. Fill in new gear oil.
Filling volume:
- with gear 8.6" — 2.1 l
- with gear 9.5" - 2.6 l
- with gear 9.75" — 2.9 l
- with gear 10.5" - 2.6 l
- with gear 11.5" — 3.0 l
Recommended gear oil:
