The selector has six positions − "R, "R", "N", "D", "3", "2"And "1".
Note: The engine can only be started when the selector is in position "P" or "N".
Position "R"
It is selected when the car is parked for a long time. In this position of the range select lever in the box, all controls are turned off, and its output shaft is blocked; vehicle movement is not possible. To translate the selector to this position is admissible only at a full stop. Translation of the selector into position "R" while driving will damage the transmission.
Enabling position "R" is carried out as follows:
A) Press the brake pedal all the way down and apply the parking brake.
Attention: car parking on slopes by moving the automatic transmission selector to the position "R" can lead to water hammer on the automatic transmission control valve, which can lead to damage to the automatic transmission. To prevent damage to the automatic transmission before moving the automatic transmission selector to the position "R" always apply the parking brake.
b) Pull the selector towards you.
V) Move the selector up as shown.
If you cannot move the automatic transmission selector from the position "R" to any other with the brake pedal depressed:
- A) Turn the ignition key to position "ACC" (in this position of the ignition switch, the automatic transmission selector lock system does not work).
- b) Depress and hold the brake pedal until you start moving.
- V) Move the selector to position "N".
- G) Start the engine and set the automatic transmission selector to the desired position.
Attention: contact a car repair shop for troubleshooting.
Position "R"
Reverse. The selector can only be moved to this position when the vehicle is stationary. Translation of the selector into position "R" while moving forward, it can lead to failure of the gearbox and other transmission components.
Position "N"
Corresponds to neutral. In the gearbox, all controls are turned off, which ensures that there is no rigid kinematic connection between its drive and driven shafts. In this case, the output shaft blocking mechanism is disabled, i.e. the car can move freely.
It is not recommended to move the selector to the position "N" while coasting (by inertia). Never turn off the ignition when driving downhill. This practice is dangerous because it could cause you to lose control of the vehicle.
Position "D"
Basic driving mode. It provides automatic shifting from first to fourth gear. In normal driving conditions, it is recommended to use it.
Position "3"
Only shifting up to third gear is allowed. This range uses engine braking mode. At high speeds, the vehicle may skid and roll over or the transmission may be damaged.
Position "2"
Driving is allowed only in first and second gears. Recommended for use, for example, on winding mountain roads. Switching to third and fourth gears is prohibited. In this range, the engine braking mode is effectively used.
Position "1"
Driving is allowed only in first gear. This range allows maximum implementation of the engine braking mode. It is recommended when driving on steep descents, climbs and off-road.
Trailer/trailer towing mode
Trailer/Trailer Towing Mode is designed to increase traction on the drive wheels when towing a large trailer or trailer weighing more than 75% of your vehicle's curb weight. This mode is used when driving on rough terrain, in a city cycle or when parking a car, i.e. when it is necessary to improve the controllability of the car when driving at low speeds.
The mode is switched on by pressing the switch located at the end of the automatic transmission selector.
When the trailer/trailer towing mode is activated, the corresponding indicator lights up on the instrument cluster.
