Note: The driver's airbag current collector must be in the center position when installing. Incorrect installation of the current collector can lead to breakage of the part and disrupt the operation of the passive safety system.
Attention: If the steering column wire bundle is attached with a double sling, the sling holder must be replaced during installation.
1. Before setting the center position of the current collector:
- set the front wheels to the straight ahead position;
- lock wide slot (1) steering shaft in position "12 hours".
- turn the ignition key to the LOCK position.
2. If in front of the current collector (5) has a centering window (4), and on the reverse side (2) service lock installed (1), do the following:
- A) Hold the current collector face up.
- b) While pressing the service lock, rotate the current collector hub clockwise until it stops.
- V) Slowly rotate the hub in the opposite direction until a yellow field with two arrows appears in the centering window (3).
- G) Release the service lock. Now the current collector is in the center position.
- d) Install the current collector on the steering shaft.
3. If in front of the current collector (4) has a centering window (3), and on the reverse side (1) there is no service lock, do the following:
- A) Hold the current collector face up.
- b) Rotate the current collector hub clockwise until it stops.
- V) Slowly rotate the hub in the opposite direction until a yellow field with two arrows appears in the centering window (2). Now the current collector is in the center position.
- G) While holding the current collector in the center position, install it on the steering shaft.
4. If in front of the current collector (3) there is no centering window, but on the reverse side (2) service lock installed (1), do the following:
- A) Hold the current collector face down.
- b) While pressing the service lock, rotate the current collector hub in the direction of the arrow (4) all the way.
- V) While holding the service lock, slowly turn the hub back 2.5 turns.
- G) Release the service lock. Now the current collector is in the center position.
- d) Install the current collector on the steering shaft.
5. If on the current collector (2) there is no centering window or service lock, proceed as follows:
- A) Hold the current collector face down.
- b) Rotate the current collector hub in the direction of the arrow (3) all the way.
- V) Slowly turn the hub back 2.5 turns. Now the current collector is in the center position.
- G) While holding the current collector in the center position, install it on the steering shaft.
