Withdrawal
Caution: Read the warnings in chapter "Passive safety system".
1. Disable the passive safety system (airbags).
2. Remove the steering wheel.
3. Remove from the bottom casing the lever of adjustment of an inclination of a steering column.
4. If necessary, remove the two self-tapping screws (1) And (2) bottom cover fixings (3). Remove the bottom cover. If the cover does not have these screws, continue to the next step.
5. Carefully unhook the bottom casing from the top casing of a steering column.
6. If necessary, remove the Tox screw (1) top cover fixings (2). If this screw is not present, simply remove the top cover.
Attention: before removing the cover, check the presence of a self-tapping screw (1) casing fasteners (2).
Installation
Attention: if the plastic retainers of the casings were damaged during removal, fasten the casings with screws during installation. If the latches are intact, go to step 3.
1. Install the top cover and tighten the Tox fixing screw.
2. Install the bottom cover and tighten the self-tapping screws.
3. Establish the top and lower casings on a steering column.
Attention: if the gear lever is installed on the steering column, check that the boot of the gear lever is correctly fixed by the casings.
4. Slide the gear lever boot over the lever to the installation location.
5. Carefully snap the shrouds together.
6. Install the tilt adjustment lever on the lower casing.
7. Install the steering wheel.
8. Turn on the passive safety system.
