2. If the brake fluid level is in the middle between the maximum and minimum level marks, the brake fluid does not need to be removed from the reservoir before starting the test.
3. If the brake fluid level is above the middle, pump out the fluid to the middle between the marks.
4. Raise the vehicle and place the safety struts under the frame.
5. Remove the front (or rear) wheel.
6. Grab the caliper and try to move it up/down and forward/back relative to the support bracket. If excessive movement is felt, replace the bracket bushings and/or mounting bolts.
7. Insert the front brake caliper pistons into the caliper:
- Install a large clamp on the caliper body and on the outer brake shoe.
- Slowly move the jaws of the clamp until the pistons are fully seated in the caliper.
- Remove the clamp.
8. Move the caliper on the support bolts. If the sliding resistance of the caliper is high or the sliding is not smooth, check the condition of the caliper bolts and bracket bushing. Replace bolts and/or bushings as needed.

9. Remove the caliper support bolts and hang the caliper aside on a strong wire without pulling the brake hose (hose does not need to be disconnected).
10. Remove the brake pads from the caliper bracket.
11. Check the condition of the brake pads, replace if necessary.
12. Make sure that the block fits snugly in the bracket, but still moves easily. Replace pad and/or bracket if necessary.
13. Check the condition of the bolts (1), the reliability of the fit of the bolts in the bracket (3), the condition of the covers (4). Replace defective parts.
