The disk repositioning method is effective if the disk runout is more than normal by 0.025-0.127 mm. With a larger amount of runout, the method of machining the disk on a car with a special lathe is used.
If the runout cannot be corrected by both methods, then the cause of the runout may be a defect in the mating parts.
Permutation Method
1. Rearrange the brake disc and measure the runout of the disc until the runout is minimal.
2. Mark the end position of the disc if the new position is different from the original.
3. If the end runout is still abnormal, apply the second correction method.
Machining method
1. Connect the lathe according to the manufacturer's instructions.
2. After each pass, measure the disc thickness.
3. If the thickness of the disc becomes less than acceptable, replace the brake disc.
4. After cutting is complete, remove residual directional roughness with 120-150 mesh sandpaper in a non-directional motion.
