Note:
- Installation is in the reverse order.
- If the condenser is replaced, fill the new condenser with the correct amount of A/C oil. See section "Volumes of liquids to be filled in the air conditioning system".
- Evacuate the system and charge the system with refrigerant.
- Using a special tool, check the system for refrigerant leaks.
Cadillac Escalade (models before 2005)
1. Pump out the coolant from the air conditioning system.
2. Remove the grille.
3. Remove an arm of fastening of the lock of a cowl.
4. Remove the additional engine cooling fan. see chapter "Cooling system".
5. Disconnect the hose from the A/C condenser.
6. Disconnect the evaporator tubes from the condenser.
7. Place plugs on the open ends of the tubing to prevent contamination of the system.
8. Turn away bolts. Tightening torque 4.5 Nm.
9. Remove brackets.
10. Remove the top insulating pads.
11. Remove the conditioner condenser.
Air conditioner condenser removal and installation Cadillac Escalade (models before 2005)
Chevrolet Tahoe (models before 2005)
1. Drain the coolant from the engine cooling system. See chapter "Cooling system".
2. Disconnect the electrical connector from the intake duct.
3. Disconnect the hose from the air filter.
4. Remove the intake duct.
5. Remove the radiator.
6. Pump out the coolant from the air conditioning system.
7. Disconnect the refrigerant outlet hose from the condenser.
8. Remove the refrigerant outlet hose.
9. Disconnect the evaporator tube from the condenser.
10. Turn away bolts and remove the top clamps. Tightening torque 2 Nm.
11. Remove the conditioner condenser.
Chevrolet Tahoe, Cadillac Escalade (models since 2005)
1. Pump out the coolant from the air conditioning system.
2. (Models up to 2007) Remove the grille. See chapter "Body".
3. Remove the bolts (1) radiator beam mountings to access the radiator holder mounting bolts. Tightening torque 9 Nm.
4. (Models up to 2007) Remove the lower bolts securing the hood latch bracket. Tightening torque 9 Nm.
5. Turn away a nut of fastening of a hose of removal of a refrigerant from the condenser. Tightening torque 16 Nm.
6. Disconnect the hose from the condenser.
7. Turn away a nut of fastening of a tube of the evaporator from the condenser. Tightening torque 16 Nm.
8. Disconnect the tube from the evaporator.
9. Turn away bolts of fastening of the holder and remove the holder. Tightening torque 2 Nm.
10. Remove the conditioner condenser.
