Air conditioning compressor (mechanical models). 1 - air conditioning compressor, 2 - air conditioning compressor connector, 3 - pressure switch connector, 4 - pressure switch, 5 - engine oil level sensor, 6 - starter, 7 - crankshaft position sensor, 8 - starter connector.
Cadillac Escalade (models before 2005)
1. Pump out the coolant from the air conditioning system.
2. Disconnect the electrical connector (1).
3. Remove the accessory drive belt.
4. Disconnect the electrical connector (2) from the pressure switch.
5. Disconnect the bolt (3) hose attachments. Tightening torque 48 Nm.
6. Remove and discard all sealing washers.
7. Turn away bolts and nuts of fastening of an arm of the compressor of the conditioner. Tightening torque 50 Nm.
8. Remove the A/C compressor bracket.
9. Turn away bolts (4) mounting for the air conditioning compressor. Tightening torque 50 Nm.
10. Remove the air conditioning compressor.
11. Drain the oil from the compressor and measure its quantity.
12. If the compressor oil is contaminated, then replace the tube with the expansion jet.
13. If the air conditioning compressor is replaced with a new one, add the required amount of oil to the system.
14. Installation is carried out in reverse order.
15. Evacuate the system and charge the system with refrigerant.
16. Using a special tool, check the system for refrigerant leakage.
Chevrolet Tahoe, Cadillac Escalade (models since 2005)
1. Pump out the coolant from the air conditioning system.
2. Install the puller in the via.
3. Turn the A/C compressor drive belt clockwise and loosen the belt tension.
4. Remove the compressor drive belt from the A/C compressor pulley.
5. Slightly loosen the belt tension.
6. Remove the right wheel.
7. Remove the fender liner.
8. Turn away a bolt of fastening of a hose of removal of a refrigerant from the conditioner compressor. Tightening torque 16 Nm.
9. Disconnect a hose from the conditioner compressor.
10. Turn away a bolt of fastening of a hose of a supply of refrigerant from the conditioner compressor. Tightening torque 16 Nm.
11. Disconnect a hose from the conditioner compressor.
12. Remove sealing washers and discard. Place plugs on the open ends of the tubes.
13. Disconnect wiring connectors.
14. Turn away bolts (3) mounting for the air conditioning compressor. Tightening torque 50 Nm.
15. Remove bracket (1) from the compressor (2).
16. If the air conditioning compressor is replaced with a new one, add the required amount of oil to the system.
17. Installation is carried out in the reverse order.
18. Evacuate the system and charge the system with refrigerant.
19. Using a special tool, check the system for refrigerant leakage.
