Axle shaft seal (semi-floating half shaft) — replacement

1. Remove the axle shaft.

2. Pry and remove the oil seal from the end of the axle housing with a large screwdriver or the inside of the axle shaft (see photo).



3. Lubricate the oil seal recess with refractory grease and press the oil seal with light hammer blows on the mandrel (see photo). The oil seal can be flush with the axle housing.
