Attention! In the event of an oil seal leak or failure of the axle shaft bearing, the housing assembly with the axle shaft, bearing and oil seal should be removed and handed over to a car service for replacement. Self-repair of this unit is not possible.
1. Raise the vehicle and place it on stands.
2. Remove the front suspension stabilizer bar.
3. Disconnect the right inner steering link (see Chapter 10).
4. Turn away bolts of a flange of a semiaxis, take away a semiaxis to a forward part of the car and fix.
5. Disconnect connectors from thermal actuator and pointer switch (see photo).
6. Remove the axle shield.
7. Remove the drain plug from the final drive housing and drain the oil. Screw in and tighten the drain plug.
8. Turn away nuts of fastening of the case of a half shaft, get bolts and washers (see photo).
9. Turn away bolts of fastening of a socket of the case of a semiaxis to a crankcase of the main transfer (see photo).
10. Remove the axle shaft by lifting up slightly to drain the oil from the housing into the crankcase.
11 Installation is carried out in the reverse order. Replace the gasket between the axle shaft housing and the final drive housing.
