Models up to 1994
1. Move the transmission selector to position N. Move the switch housing (see photo) to the right, to position L.
2. Move the selector to position P. The blocking switch will take the correct position.
3. Move the transmission selector to position N.
4. Disconnect the wires from the switch.
5. Spread the ends of the bracket on the switch housing and remove the switch.
6. Align the stem on the switch with the hole in the selector shaft.
7. Install the switch in place. Align the switch with the notch first, then push down on the front of the switch.
8. Adjust the position of the switch by moving the transmission selector to position P.
9. Connect wires.
Models since 1995
10. Put the car on the parking brake, move the transmission selector to position N.
11. Pry the tip of the cable and remove from the ball joint on the transmission selector.
12. Turn away a nut of fastening of the selector to the shaft and remove the selector.
13. Disconnect the connector from the switch, unscrew the bolts and remove the switch from the shaft (see photo). If necessary, sand the roller with a file to remove burrs.
14. When installing the switch, align the flats on the shaft with the flats of the hole on the switch.
15. Before installing the bolts, insert the studs into the bolt holes in the switch and shaft. Pulling the studs one by one, tighten the bolts. The set of the new switch includes plastic mounting studs. The old circuit breaker will be fixed in the correct position if the bolts are tightened so that the marks from the previous tightening of the bolts on the flanges of the circuit breaker exactly coincide with the heads of the bolts. After assembly, move the selector to all positions. The alignment pins on the new switch are sheared off and the switch will be adjusted.
16.Install the selector and attach the cable.
17. Make sure that the engine starts only in selector position P or N. Otherwise, loosen the mounting bolts and turn the switch a little, achieving its operation only in the specified selector positions.
