Brief information
1. The ESC system delays ignition timing by up to 20°, reducing knocking during fuel combustion.
2. The system uses a knock sensor, which is located on the right side of the cylinder block (see photo). When the sensor detects knocking, the ESC module cuts off the circuit to the ECM. The ECM, after shutting down, delays the ignition timing until the detonation is eliminated.

Knock sensor
3. Disconnect the battery from the ground.
4. Drain the engine coolant.
5. Disconnect the wires from the knock sensor (The sensor is located in the timing chain cover).
6. Unscrew the sensor (see photo).

7. Disconnect the battery from the ground.
8. The block is located near the throttle pipe (see photo).
9. Disconnect the connector from the control unit, unscrew the screw and remove the unit.
10. Installation is carried out in the reverse order.
