Coolant temperature sensor
1. With the engine cold, press the latch (see photo) and disconnect the connector. Then unscrew the sensor.
2. Before installing a new sensor, wrap its threads with Teflon tape (see photo).
Throttle Angle Sensor (TPS)
3. The sensor is mounted on the end of the throttle shaft.
4. Remove the air filter.
5. Disconnect the connector, remove 2 screws (see photo) and remove the sensor.
6. When installing the sensor, align the sensor lever with the throttle lever on the throttle body.
Idle air valve (IAC valve)
7. Remove the air filter and disconnect a socket from the valve.
8. Unscrew the sensor (or loosen the fixing screws) and remove the sensors from the throttle body.
9. Before installing the valve, check and, if necessary, set the distance A 25-28 mm (see photo), pressing the rod with a little effort, moving it from side to side.
4.9 a. Adjusting size of the IAC valve.
1. Ring
A. Dispense valve stem protrusion.
B. Valve sealing cap diameter
Manifold absolute pressure sensor
10. Sensor mounts are shown in the photo.
Transmission Neutral Position Sensor
11. Signal from this sensor (sensor mounted on the steering column) indicates the processor unit to the neutral position of the transmission (Park/Neutral). The processing unit generates response signals to the transmission torque converter clutch (TSS), recirculation system and idle valve (IAC valve).
Attention! Driving with a disconnected sensor is highly discouraged, as engine idling is greatly degraded.
12. See Chapter 7 for how to remove and adjust the sensor.
Mass air flow sensor (models since 1996)
13. The sensor is applied on all models with SFI system. The sensor is mounted in the intake duct (see photo).
Intake manifold air temperature sensor (IAT) (models since 1996)
14. The sensor is located in the intake duct, directly below the air filter. Thermistor sensor, its resistance varies from 100 kOhm to 70 Ohm on a warm engine.
Crankshaft position sensor (SKR sensor) (models since 1996)
15. The sensor is installed in the timing chain cover (see photo).
Camshaft position sensor (CMP sensor) (models since 1996)
16. The sensor is mounted inside the ignition distributor. Sensor failure will not affect engine performance.
