1. Sequential injection system (SFI) installed in place of the TBi system on models since 1996. The fuel supply to the injection module of the SFI system is almost the same as in the TBi system, except that a fuel pump with a higher fuel pressure is used. Centralized SFI system (Central SFI) used on V6 and V8 engines of 5.0 liters and 5.7 liters. The injection system used on 7.4 liter V8 engines since 1996 is multi-injector and is called SFI. The throttle branch pipe in this system is mounted on an equalizing chamber. The lower manifold contains a plastic fuel distributor and eight injectors controlled by the PCM.
