1. Decompression must be performed before disassembling or servicing any fuel system assembly
2. Remove the tank cap.
3. Disconnect the batteries from the ground.
4. Fla models with TBi-system (1987-1995) no action is required. These engines have a special valve through which the fuel pressure is released after the engine is stopped.
5. On engines with an SFI system, connect a fuel pressure gauge with hose to the fuel fitting. Place the end of the hose into the vessel and unscrew the vent screw. After the fuel flows out, tighten the screw.
