2. Remove the timing chain cover, chain and sprockets.
3. Remove the hood latch (see Chapter 11).
4. Remove the intake manifold.
5. Remove the grille and headlight trim (see Chapter 11).
6. Remove a radiator and racks, then remove the conditioner condenser.
7. Remove the radiator bracket.
8. Turn out from a cam-shaft a hairpin and remove a gear wheel of a drive of a balancing shaft.
9. Turn away a bolt of fastening and remove a conducted gear wheel of a balancing shaft.
10. Turn away two bolts of fastening of a counterbalance shaft counterbalance and remove a counterbalance.
11. Turn out and remove a restrictive plate of pushers.
12. Using a soft-faced hammer, carefully knock out the balance shaft from the cylinder block.
13. Clean the balance shaft and inspect. Check the condition of the neck, uneven wear, wear and damage on it. If the journal is damaged, the rear shaft bearing in the cylinder block is also damaged and must be replaced.
14. Check up a condition of gear wheels of a balancing shaft. If cracks, missing teeth, or excessive wear are found, replace both gears.
Bearing replacement
Attention! The balance shaft is integral with the front bearing. It is not allowed to dismantle the front bearing from the shaft.
15. The rear bearing of the balance shaft is changed in a car service.
16. Lubricate the journal of the balancer shaft with molybdenum grease.
17. Install the shaft in the motor. If necessary, press in the shaft with light blows from a soft-faced hammer.
18. Install the shaft stop plate and secure with bolts, which are tightened to the specified torque.
19. Install the servant pusher plate, secure the plate by tightening the bolts.
20. Turn the balance shaft by hand, make sure that there is sufficient clearance between the balance shaft and pusher plate.
21. Install the driven gear on the balancer, tighten the bolts to the specified torque.
22. Rotate the camshaft with the pinion gear temporarily installed so that the alignment mark points to 12 o'clock (see photo). Remove the gear.
23. Turn the balance shaft so that the alignment mark points to 6 o'clock (see previous photo).
24. Install the balance shaft drive gear on the camshaft and tighten the bolt to the specified torque.
25. Install the timing chain, sprockets and cover.
