There are a number of options available for a major overhaul. The determining factor is the condition of the cylinder block, which in some cases it is advisable to replace. If the condition of the crank mechanism and cylinder block is unsatisfactory, it is more cost-effective to replace worn components and parts with new or remanufactured repair kits that are supplied as spare parts by the manufacturer or car service centers.
