1. Late production engines have an air filter that supplies air to the throttle from various locations, depending on engine temperature.
2. The filter is checked visually.
3. Open the hood and find the buffer flap in the air filter (see photo). The damper is located in a long nozzle of the metal air filter housing.
4. On parts of vehicles, disconnect the flexible ventilation duct from the filter attachment.
5. Check is carried out on the cooled down engine. Start the engine and use a mirror to check that the choke is closed. When the damper is closed, air flows through the hose, bypassing the channel near the exhaust manifold, in which the air is heated.
6. As the engine warms up, the damper should open, allowing air to enter through the nozzles. Depending on the outside temperature, the damper opens within 10-15 minutes. To speed up the check, you can take a short trip.
7. If the air filter flap does not work, follow the steps in Chapter 6.
