Attention! Since 1996, an electronically controlled recirculation valve has been installed on the vehicles in question. The electronic recirculation system is checked at the dealer's car service.
1. The recirculation valve is mounted on the intake manifold, next to the throttle pipe. Typically, the cause of unsatisfactory operation of the recirculation system is valve sticking or corrosion.
2. On a cold engine, check the movement of the diaphragm by pressing on it with your finger (see photo). The diaphragm should slide fully into the valve body with little force.
3. If the diaphragm moves a short distance, then compare the diaphragm travel of the old and new valves. If there is resistance to diaphragm movement, replace the recirculation valve.
4. An electronic pneumatic distributor is installed on parts of cars («VRV valve»), which is mounted on a bracket near the recirculation valve. The air distributor filter should be periodically removed and washed with soapy water.
