Inductive ignition sensor (until 1995) — check and replace

1. Disconnect the battery from the ground.

2. Remove the ignition distributor cap and slider.

3. Remove the ignition distributor.

4. Disconnect the wire from the ignition module (see photo).



5. Connect an ohmmeter to the sensor output and to ground (see photo). The ohmmeter should show infinite resistance. Otherwise, replace the sensor.



6. Connect an ohmmeter between the sensor leads, the resistance between which should be 500-1500 Ohm. Otherwise, replace the sensor.

7. Designate risk position of the roller of the distributor of ignition and a gear wheel.

8. Carefully clamp the ignition distributor in a vise with jaws and remove the pin from the shaft and gear (see photo). Remove the ignition distributor (see photo).







9. Remove retaining ring and remove sensor (see photo).



10. Installation is carried out in the reverse order.
