- drain the fluid from the radiator and cylinder block through the drain plugs in the left radiator tank and cylinder block; at the same time, open the heater valve and open the plug of the expansion tank;
- remove the conditioner condenser according to requirements of subsection "Ventilation, air conditioning and interior heating";
- disconnect the hoses from the radiator;
- unscrew four bolts and remove casings 10 (see fig. 2-59);
- unscrew the two bolts securing the radiator bracket 9 to the body and remove it complete with fans from the engine compartment;
- remove the casing of the two electric fans by unscrewing the four bolts and one nut.
Checking the tightness of the radiator. The tightness of the radiator is checked in a bath of water.
Having muffled the radiator pipes, bring air to it at a pressure of 0.2 MPa (2 kgf/cm2) and soak in a bath of water for at least 30 seconds. In this case, no air bubbles should be observed.
If the radiator is damaged or leaking, replace it with a new one.
