For what do the following:
- unscrew the nut of the pin of the upper ball joint and release the hoses from the brackets;
- bending back the tabs of the protective cover 28 (see fig.4-1), unscrew the caliper guide mounting bolts and move it complete with the caliper to the side;
Warning. To protect the hoses from damage, do not let the caliper hang on the hoses.
- remove the cap 1 of the hub and unscrew the nut 2 of the wheel hub bearings;
- remove the hub 4 of the front wheel as an assembly with the brake disc 5 using an ejector;
- remove the protective cover 28 of the front brake;
- remove the shock absorber 27 of the front suspension;
- compress the suspension spring 13 until the lower arm 14 is completely unloaded by lowering the lower suspension arm onto the stand;
- disconnect the ball joint housing from the lower and upper suspension arms and remove the steering knuckle;
- smoothly unload the suspension spring and remove it;
- remove the axle and disconnect the lower suspension arm from the cross member;
- disconnect the axle of the upper arm from the cross member and remove the axle assembly with the arm;
Note. Before removing the upper and lower arm axles, count the number of washers at each end of the lower arm axle and on the upper arm axle mounting bolts so that when installing the arm axles, put them in their original places.
- remove the rebound buffer bracket and cross member as described above;
- press the pins of the ball joints out of the holes of the steering knuckle 26.
The assembly of the suspension units is carried out in the reverse order of disassembly. When assembling the wheel hub, put a layer of Litol-24 grease in bearing separators 7 and apply it evenly into the cavity of the steering knuckle between the bearings in the amount of 135 g for each knuckle.
When installing cross member braces, tighten the inner nut until the clearance between the washer and the bracket is selected, and the outer nut with the torque specified in the appendix.
To prevent incorrect distribution of forces in rubber-metal joints, tighten the nuts of the lever axles under the static load of the vehicle 3140 N (320 kgf). Then check and adjust the angles of the steered wheels.
