Removal, installation and adjustment of position of a cowl

Hood 6 (pic. 8-9) hung on hinges along the rear edge of the front end of the body. A lock is installed in the front part, and a latch 5 and a hook 4 on the hood, which prevents the hood from opening when the car is moving. In the open position, the hood is held by a stop.



The lock drive is cable, the handle 7 of the lock is located inside the passenger compartment on the left side under the instrument panel.

Raise the hood, fix it with an emphasis in the open position.

Disconnect the terminal «minus» from the battery.

Remove the hood upholstery and remove the wiring harness from the cavity.

Remove the two washer jets, disconnect the feed pipe from the tee.

Disconnect the leash 9 of the hood lock drive rod from the lever 7 and the lever 11 of the lock drive.

Turn away nuts 10 and remove the cowl lock.

Turn out two buffers.

Remove the four bolts securing the hood hinges to the body and remove the hood.


Install the hood in reverse order. When installing, adjust the position of the hood due to the enlarged holes in the hinges.

Hood latch adjustment. If the lock does not securely lock the hood or unlocks it with great effort, adjust the position of the lock.

With the hood open, loosen the nuts 10 for fastening the housing 2 of the lock and, using the enlarged holes for the fastening studs, move the lock to the desired position. Tighten nuts 10 and check the operation of the lock.
