Loosen the front wheel bearing nut and remove the washer (see Front wheel bearing replacement).
We loosen the tightening of the wheel bolts, hang the front of the car and remove the wheel.
Disconnect the ball joint of the front suspension arm from the steering knuckle (see Removing the lever).
When removing the left wheel drive, turn the steering wheel to the extreme right position (when removing the drive of the right wheel - to the extreme left), so that the tie rod output is at its maximum value.
This will allow the outer pivot housing shank to be pulled out of the hub without disconnecting the tie rod end from the swing arm.
We take the steering knuckle with the shock absorber strut to the side and remove the splined shank of the outer hinge housing of the left wheel drive from the hub.
Usually the shank is removed from the hub by hand, but if necessary, you can lightly tap the end of the shank with a hammer through a wooden spacer.
We substitute a container under the hole in the gearbox housing, which includes the shank of the internal hinge.
Leaning with a mounting spatula through a metal spacer or a wooden block of a suitable size on the gearbox housing, we push the shank of the drive's internal hinge from the spline hole of the side gear.
In this case, part of the transmission oil will flow out of the hole in the gearbox housing.
We remove the drive of the left wheel, trying not to damage the drive oil seal.
We remove the shank of the housing of the outer hinge of the right wheel drive from the wheel hub.
Leaning with a mounting blade on the head of the bolt securing the cover of the right differential bearing..
... we push the shank of the housing of the internal hinge of the right drive from the splined hole of the side gear.
Remove the right wheel drive.
Before installing the drive, we replace the retaining ring of the shank of the inner hinge housing with a new one.
Circlips must not be reused.
Before installing the actuator, center the retaining ring in the shank groove using grease.
We introduce the splined shank of the outer hinge housing into the hole of the wheel hub, install the washer and wrap (without delay) wheel bearing nut.
Then we introduce the shank of the internal hinge housing through the hole of the drive stuffing box and, turning the shaft, align the splines of the shank with the splines of the side gear.
Having pulled down the suspension arm, with a sharp movement of the rack with the steering knuckle towards the gearbox, we send the drive to a fixed position.
By pulling the body of the internal hinge or prying it with a mounting blade, we make sure that the shank of the body is fixed in the side gear.
Further assembly is carried out in the reverse order.
We check the oil level in the gearbox and bring it to normal.
In the absence of the same gear oil that was filled in the gearbox, completely change the oil.
