Removing the electronic control unit

We remove the electronic engine control unit for replacement or when performing vehicle repair operations related to the possibility of harming the electronic components of the unit (e.g. when drying a car in a drying chamber after painting, etc.).

Before removing the control unit, disconnect the wire terminal from the "negative" terminal of the battery.



By pressing the latch of the block of the wiring harness of the engine management system..



... we lower the shoe bracket..



... and disconnect the wiring harness block from the control unit connector. Similarly, disconnect the other block of the wiring harness from the control unit connector.



Using the Torx T-25 wrench, unscrew the three screws securing the unit to the bracket..



... and remove the control unit.

Install the electronic control unit in reverse order.
