If the crankshaft position sensor fails, the engine will not run.
Remove the crankshaft position sensor for inspection or replacement.
Checking the crankshaft position sensor is shown in the section Troubleshooting.
Access to the sensor is possible from the top of the engine compartment. For clarity, the operation to remove the sensor is shown from the bottom of the car with the mudguard dismantled.
With the ignition off..
... we press the spring latch of the wiring harness block of the engine management system..
... and disconnect the wiring harness block from the sensor wiring block.
With a "5" hexagon, we unscrew the screw securing the sensor to the oil pump housing.
We take out the sensor from the hole in the oil pump housing.
Install the crankshaft position sensor in reverse order.
