We remove the fuel pressure regulator to replace a failed sealing ring or the regulator itself.
Considering that the screws securing the fuel pressure regulator to the fuel rail are installed on threaded sealant, and access to them is difficult, it is better to dismantle the pressure regulator after removing the fuel rail (see Removing the fuel rail and injectors).
Using a Phillips screwdriver, unscrew the two screws securing the regulator to the fuel rail..
... and remove the regulator.
Remove the fuel pressure regulator seal.
To remove the retainer of the drain pipe tip, pry it with a flat screwdriver..
... and remove from the nozzle.

We install the fuel pressure regulator in the reverse order, after applying a thin layer of engine oil to the new sealing ring.
Before screwing in the regulator fastening screws, we apply Permatex anaerobic thread locker THREADLOCKER BLUE to their threaded part.
