Replacement of pillows of a suspension bracket of system of release of the fulfilled gases

If the rubber suspension pads of the exhaust system are damaged, while the car is moving or when the engine is started, knocks can be heard under the bottom of the car due to the touch of the system parts on the body.

Pillows can be torn, lose elasticity, have cracks and tears.

The suspension cushions of the main, additional mufflers and intermediate pipe differ somewhat from each other in design, but are the same in the method of attachment.

Operations are shown on the front suspension cushion of the main muffler.

The rest of the suspension pads are removed and installed in the same way.



Spray the cushion holes, which include the muffler and body brackets, with a silicone lubricant, such as Permatex's Silicone Spray Lubricant.



With a hand or prying with a screwdriver, we pull the pillow from the bracket of the main muffler.

We pull the pillow from the body bracket and remove it.

If the cushion is to be replaced, it can also be removed from the brackets by cutting with a knife.

Before installing a new pillow, clean the brackets and spray the holes in the pillow with silicone grease.
